IMPORTANT NOTICE RE INSURANCE AT RRWT EVENTS

Events organised by the Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust are covered by insurance against third party liability.

However, please note that those attending our events are entirely responsible for the behaviour of their dog(s) and, in the event of it or them causing loss or injury to another person or dog, neither the Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust nor its insurers can accept any liability.

All owners are advised to have in place their own insurance to cover third party liability in respect of their dog(s).   It is included in many Household Contents policies.  Alternatively, becoming a member of Dogs Trust (www.dogstrust.org.uk, telephone 0207 837 0006) will give you free third party insurance cover up to £1000,000 if your dog causes damage or injury to another person, their property or animal.

RRWT EVENTS

For many years, two events have been organised annually for our supporters (many of whom have given homes to rescued Ridgebacks) – the Summer Rally near Newbury in early July and the Christmas Party near Woodstock in November/December.   The former is a day of fun and games for Ridgebacks and their owners with the primary object of raising funds for the Trust.
The Christmas Party was originally envisaged as a means of saying “thank you” to our friends who had supported us throughout the year, but they seem to have turned it into another fund-raising event, for which we are very grateful. With the passage of time, both events have become more and more like a family get-together.

The Fairman Memorial Salver was presented to the Trust by her owners after their Ridgeback, Amber, was shot and killed trying to protect them from armed robbers.  Since 2000, the Salver has been awarded annually at the Christmas Party to the person whom the trustees feel has made the most significant contribution (not necessarily financial) to our work during the year.

We are extremely fortunate to have such a band of generous and dedicated friends.
