CASE NOTES AND LETTERS
These brief case histories and extracts from some of the many letters we have received give a picture of the Trust’s work.

JIM was 12 when his owner died.   When money left for him ran out, he was moved to the RSPCA who alerted us.   He was given a home by a family who knew he wouldn’t have long but felt he deserved a comfortable retirement.   Though weak on his hind legs, Jim was full of character - he trashed the fridge and various other household objects - and terrorised the local canine population before the end inevitably came.    Both he and his family enjoyed his last few months.

Named for the Police Sergeant who alerted the Trust, SERGEANT was freed by Police from a house where dog-fighting took place.   His wounds are now healed and everybody in his new home loves this gentle giant.

KATY needed rehoming after being picked on by her Bull Terrier companion. In her new home she joined ELSA (another rescue Ridgeback ) and the ever-tolerant Retriever Leo. The three became firm friends and playmates.

FALCO was quite old when his owners surrended him. Allthough he only understood Greek, he soon got the hang of English in his new home. At first he caused problems with fouling and chewing, but he was loving and affectinate, so his new family perserved. When he eventually died, they offered a home to a new "oldie", eight year old KES, who came adrift after the child he lived with developed an allergi to him.

ELSA was found wandering as a youngster by an unscrupulous couple, who bred a litter from her, and then dumped her on the RSPCA. The Trust found her a loving home where she joined LIAM, another rescue Ridgeback who found himself homeless after a divorce.

RHYS was about 10 when he was driven to a country park , pushed out of the car, and left to fend for himself. Fortunately, the incident was seen. RHYS was taken to a sanctuary, and the Trust informed. Sadly he didn't have many moths to live, but his new owners made sure thet he enjoyed them to the full.

KIA was taken to the PDSA to be put down because her owner couldn’t cope any more when faced with the impending arrival of a third child.   Aged about 12 and having had many litters, she won the hearts of all who came in contact with her, so the Trust was asked to find a home for her.   Despite her numerous health problems, she is now happily settled and rules her two male Ridgeback companions with a rod of iron.

FROM OUR LETTERS:

SIMBA has become so playful, it's brilliant. He is also getting a lot stronger and fitter....he is beginning to calm down in the car now, and is generally becoming very confident. We managed to leave him at home for a whilest we went to the supermarket. When we sneaked back to see if he was barking, we found him absolutely fast asleep on the settee.

OTTO has settled in with us so well , that it seems hardly possible that he has not allways lived with us. He has attended 2 childrens parties, and 3 adult parties, and has behaved perfectly through all of them.

Just a brief note to thank you for TOM. He's as barmy as they come, but we are getting there. The love and trust he imparts is remarkable, it's a sight to see him in a field off the lead , running free.

Just thought I'd drop you a line to tell you that BOSUN is fine and well after a slight problem with his prostate, which now seems to have cleared up. He is at this moment sleeping soundly on his bed, whilst the rest of the office works around him. I cannot thank you enough for putting us in touch with BOSUN, he is the best thing to happen to me in a long while, and I can't imagine being without him.
THANK YOU !
